Dellew-Pemco, a new joint venture, was pleased to learn they’d won the defense contract to maintain over 2,400 homes on Oahu, Hawaii, including painting, renovating, and cleaning. The challenge was that they had only 30 days before the project would officially kick off, and the contract required that the company design, build, and thoroughly test a robust operations database so staffers could track work orders, purchase orders, inventory, and employee assignments. In addition, the new system would need to generate invoices totaling more than $400,000 every month, accurately and efficiently. Through personal interviews, our experts analyzed specific contract requirements, staff capabilities, and operational challenges. Based on that data, our software engineers designed and built a basic working database system from scratch, and had it up, running, and thoroughly tested, before the deadline date. Additional functionality was added so staff could dispatch repair crews, run invoices, and manage inventory to track everything from angle valves to yellow wire nuts across 20 warehouses.
